A Review on LetterBoxed!
0Utilizing interviews with an incredible number of famous Hollywood people and copious film clips, this documentary sets out to explore the way that media has dealt with disabled people over the years. The film is informative and comprehensive, covering all sorts of disabilities by presenting the actors (some abled, some disabled) who have played disabled in movies and on TV over the years. Apparently the director Jenni Gold is disabled herself; but the film never is about that. The film is particularly well written, smoothly transitioning through the various historical stages of Hollywood's attitude towards the disabled, with only a small amount of editorial narration on screen by Jane Seymour. Essentially, this is a clip film with a truly impressive and high quality collection of relevant scenes to illustrate its message. Entertaining and educational...nicely done.
