Hollywood Access Services, LLC announces their contribution of Accessibility Services
0Burbank, CA — HOLLYWOOD ACCESS SERVICES, LLC proudly announces their contribution of Accessibility Services to Gold Pictures’ CinemAbility, a feature film documentary by Director Jenni Gold that traces the history of disability portrayals in film and television and the importance of responsible depictions in the media.
Hollywood Access Services’ co-founders– Anna Capezzera, Matthew Christoffersen, Justin Sohl, and Mathayu Warren-Lane– furnished a recorded Audio Description track for blind and visually-impaired moviegoers, as well as a Closed Caption file for deaf and hard of hearing viewers.
“We were thrilled when we sat down with Jenni and Producer Jeff Maynard to hear just how far they intended to take accessibility awareness with their thought-provoking film,” stated President of HAS, Mathayu Warren-Lane. “Being able to provide Audio Description and Captioning for such an important project allowed us to do what we do best on a creative piece whose content is especially significant, not only for our cause, but for public awareness about all kinds of disabilities.”
“Hollywood Access Services has been incredible,” said Director Gold. “It was always important to us that the film be made accessible to all audiences, and Hollywood Access Services provided a crucial service which made that possible.”
The world premiere screening of CinemAbility was held at Paramount Studios on July 26th, 2013, the 23rd anniversary of the passage of the Americans with Disabilities Act. Sony’s Entertainment Access Glasses were made available to moviegoers.
Hollywood Access Services was formed in 2012, and was recently awarded the 2013 Achievement Award in Audio Description – Media by the American Council of the Blind.
